To catch a thief

The bread thief

We woke up to snow again this morning. No complaints here. We love being snowed in. Wes and Cheryl had a few complaints after having to cut a trip to Florida short because of the weather. They went from 74 and sunny to 32 and snowy. But the winter wonderland that awaited us all this morning made coming home worth it. So far we have about 5 inches and it’s still falling. We’ve played in it, walked in it, took photos in it and even made snow cream. (A gallon of snow, 2 cups of milk, a cup of sugar, a tbsp of vanilla and a dash of cinnamon and allspice). We also took pity on the poor little birds and set out a plate of breadcrumbs for them. Only something other than the birds ate it. Cheryl looked outside about 15 minutes after putting the plate out and the plate and food were all gone. We suspected we had a thief on our paws so we set out another plate and then conducted surveillance on it. Sure enough, we caught a red dog red handed eating all of the bread left for the birds. We figured she must have been really hungry and needed the bread more than the birds, so we let her off easy.

The view from Wes and Cheryl's Orlando, Fla. hotel room only one day ago.
